Various Lexie Updates

Lexie far and away leads the most exciting life out of the three of us these days.

First, her soccer team completed their season last Saturday with a victory. Lexie played goalie for a half and did a great job as a defender for the other half. They now move into the playoffs, which start on Saturday.

Second, she is in the middle of a heated campaign for Vice President of her school. She's having a ton of fun with it and seems to be doing well. She made it through the "primaries" and is one of five kids competing for the position. Laureen helped her with her campaign poster and t-shirts. I helped her write her speech. I believe she gives her speech and the voting takes place next Tuesday.

Third, it is amazing what we will spend on our kids, especially when we only have one! The current crazy is Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah Montana), who is some sort of teen disney star. She is coming in concert, and apparenntly she is one of the biggest draws in concert this year, as I found out when we tried to get tickets. We ended up having to pay some relatively outrageous prices on Ebay, so her and Laureen will be attending on Thursday night. Lexie's the kind of kid that really doens't ask for much, and it was pretty clear how important this was to her, so I swallowed hard and paid the (what seems to me to be) absurd price for two tickets.

Of course, the look on her face the last day knowing that she is going has already made the money a great investment. Nothing better then bringing happiness to your child.
